I need a good php programmer with real experience in building drupal modules with ajax technologies... Basically I need two separate modules that are very similar but I guess need to be separated in effect.
The modules are basically modules that would enable users to *block* any content from the site when they are logged in.
1) The first module would actually be a plugin for the leech.module, where a user should be able to block any child nodes from any source on the site. The should be a little button in the $links section for every leech feed item that when hovered says something like "block all content from the source". Also, on the source page itself (the parent node) there should be something for the user to easily block all content from that source.
2) The second module would be a module that allows to block a user completely from a logged in users view. Ideally there would be some small icon next to each user name (x). When a user would click on another user's (x) button, a small in place window should ask him if he wants to block only the comments, the content or both from that user.
There should be an admin interface so that each user can actually go to a page to see all his "blocked content". The user should be able to easily see an overview of all sources and users blocked and be able to unblock them from that interface as well...
So I received a grant to establish a social networking website for artists in the Southwestern PA area. I made the mistake of choosing a programmer that gave me a good deal, but I think he is horrible. I was quoted anywhere from $100,000 to $50,000 to $8,000 to create this site. We are supposed to launch on April 21 and most of the fuctionality still is not finished and it is messy and sloppy and runs really slow. The programmer is using cold fusion.
What I am wondering is if Drupal would be able to handle a site like this.:
I think it looks cheap and like he doesn't know what he is doing.
Also There is a back office component. http://art.shareddynamics.com/backoffice/

Firstly: Is it possible to create a site like this in Drupal?
- Is it hard to do, even if I am new to php and mysql but have some web design experience?
- After this verision of the site launches, how hard will it be to transfer all the data that the users have uploaded into their profiles without loosing it and without them having to change their passwords etc...?
- Is there anythig else I should consider?
Here is an summary of the project I want to be on the site:
