Black Angus Media is a Toronto based new media company that specializes in creating original, premium and rich media content. We are looking for a senior web programmer to build an innovative & comprehensive community social networking site on a tight deadline.

Requirements:
- 5-8 years of web/software programming & development
- Strong experience with web technologies (Drupal 5.x, PHP 5/MySQL 5,J2EE, Spring, XML, SOAP, AJAX,CSS 3.0)
- Expertise in at least one of the following languages: PHP, Perl, Ruby, Java/JSP
- Strong online portfolio showcasing innovative concepts
- Excellent Drupal skills (installing modes, theme development, content organization, build/modify new widgets)
- Experience developing website widgets using 3rd party APIs
- Experience writing and maintaining supporting documentation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates an ability to work with tight deadlines
- Exception communication skills (verbal and written)
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
- **Prefer contractor located in Toronto, ON.

Hi there,

I have been playing with Drupal for a while now and i have to say it is great. I am thinking of starting a little (emphasis on little, well at least initially) side business based on Drupal.

I wonder if there are any small businesses out there that could give me an idea about the type of contracts they use when designing sites or developing with drupal for a client. It would be great if somebody could send me a standard contract so i have an idea what to look out for. Much appretiated.

Looking for someone to put together a (user contributed) video site using Drupal. The theme will be education-related videos. This will be a demo site with the potential of becoming a commercial site. Experience required, and samples of previous work must be provided. AFANA, a non-profit organization which promotes Australian rules football in North America, needs a consultant/developer with experience upgrading Drupal sites, to perform an upgrade of it's Drupal /MySQL based web site, afana.com, from the obsolete version (4.6.x) to the current version (5.5) and prepare for the upgrade to the upcoming 6.0. The upgrade would include the modules currently in use to the current versions of same or replacement with equivalent, new modules. At this time, the task involves the upgrade only and other services will be determined at a later date. With only minor exceptions, which we can detail upon enquiry, most of our modules are unmodified and won't require porting any customizations. The site's primary function is as a web portal/news site for the sport.
