Mapping of N:N Relations - How to do it with Nodes?

Hi,

as I am more of a "php & mysql do it yourself"-guy I would like to ask a quite general question: how do I implement N:N relations with drupal nodes?

Just imagine three entities: "organisation", "Article" and "Theme" (this are NOT drupaö Terminology, just generic names).

Normaly, to connect these three entities I would create a table that contains Org-ID, Article-ID and Thema-ID, that would enable me to create "Organisation X writes an Article on Theme X" Relations.

How would one do this with drupal?

Thank you very much for your attention!

WYSIWYG and xhtml

Hi,

Perhaps what I want is impossible to do, but I would like to have a xhtml 1.1 compliant website, and to allow authors to write articles with a wysiwyg editor... My problem is that editors seem to use align="left" for images when we want a float:left style, and so it is not xhtml compliant...

Anybody knows of a good way to have both a wysiwyg editor with image support, and a xhtml 1.1 compliant website?

Perhaps what I need is a module to translate some html code to another codes :)

Thanks

HTMLArea and image module

Hi,

Can anybody explains me how to use htmlarea to insert and upload images? I cannot figure out how it works. I have installed htmlarea, image module, even upload module (in case of), and I have activated some htmlarea plugins. (don't remember which ones, but all with the name "image" in them.

Noob but excited

Hello,

I am so delighted to join you community. I have been reading everything I can get my hands on from the handbooks to the forums. I have some simple questions that I have yet to find an answer to. I guess I am looking for a simple drupal tutorial or help.

For instance, I see how to add a new page but it adds it as a box on my "index" page. How do I make different pages and actually link to them while keeping my sidebars the same?

A logical plan?

Hi,

I'm about to begin putting together what I hope will turn into a grass roots sort of community site. I have a modest familiarity with Drupal strictly from an enduser perspective. I read documentation fairly well, so I don't think what I want to do will be prohibitively difficult. I've got time. Still, if I'm about to set out on a fool's journey, I'd appreciate someone slowing me down so I don't hurt myself too badly.

What I want to do is develope my site on my PC which is running Slackware-10.2 with Apache, MySQL and PHP (4 something). I then want to rsync the project to my web host which is running some flavor of Linux with all the tools I mentioned before. I've guessed that the only potentially tricky part will be backing up the database on my machine and transferring it (installing it?) to my host's server. I intend to theme the site, then experiment with modules. When it's ready to go live, I plan to figure out the backup-transfer MySQL thing. From reading posts I gather transfers can be problematic, especially moving from one set of tools to another. From my point of view what I need to do sounds very straightfoward.

That's basically it. Oh, and I thought I'd use 4.7. Makes sense to me to learn on the up and coming vs. the outgoing. If I'm overlooking potential landmines, be they glaring or otherwise, I'd appreciate a hint.

Thanks,

Chubby

BTW, I read a post recently where the poster portrayed WordPress documentation favorably compared to Drupal's.

External Links count and Node sorting

Well, the drupal is great but there are four questions here:

1) How can i count external links hits?
2) And then use it for "top 10" a-la ratings? How can i create such ratings (no matter of what: hits, latest, top rated etc)
3) How can i let user choose nodes sorting order?
4) How can i implement tagging technique or articles for example.

If all of this is possible, then...DRUPAL FOREVER!!!

Thanx in advance for help!
