Upgrading Drupal and multi-site: Steps?

Greeting!

I have a site running on Drupal 4.7, I want upgrade it to latest drupal version. But I have many doubts.

1. Can I upgrade site directly to latest ver. i.e. 6.0? or do I need to do it step by step, that first have it upgraded to 5.0, 5.7 and then 6.0 etc?
2. I am also running multi-site set up on Drupal code base and have another site (sub domain) on iit having separate dataase. Will that get affected?
3. What about database upgrades do we need to do that?

Thanks a lot

Error message "Access Denied You are not authorized to access this page."

When I login and try to open any page i get this error message. Even if I am logged in as administrator I am getting this error message whenever I try to open any page after login. Version of drupal is 4.7.x

drupal audio - how would this affect it?

this software seems to figure out where mp3's are linked and then make access to them easier?

i'm not really a technical person so i could be wrong about this... but does that mean that using this thing people could more easily download mp3s that aren't meant to be downloadable?

Unwanted reply address

I run several Drupal installations. Mostly 5, but still a few 4.7. All of them are using Drupal 4.7.0 including Contact and Webform 4.7.1

All work fine, except one. In the working installations when I get a Webform or Contact generated e-mail the sender is whoever sent the message.

In the odd installation there are two senders: the General Settings E-mail address and the actual sender. In mail.app the first (and wrong) sender also appears as reply-to address.

I have checked both installations and are the same, version wise.

I've tried to read the headers and understand the differences. I can see them, but I get nada out of them. I am hoping that one of the guys who really know their way around this can lend me a hand. I guess this has to do with server configuration. All my sites are at the same servers, but the one that is not working right.

With some luck I am not the only one in this predicament. I have tried the largely undocumented return path module, to no avail. I've spent longer hours than I should searching the forums. There must be a hack a patch, something.

After eliminating all common elements in the headers, the comparison is this:

********************************************************
Installation that works fine.
In this case, the Return Path and the envelope are the
username-of-the-site@the server
