Just a question

I wonder why if there is a module of Drupal which translates our site to the language we want to, then this excelent site, organization or as you want to tell it is just in English.

Is it to hard the user of drupal.org or any user wants to visit the site could do it in its own language?

Events for another year

The person who set up our drupal site is unavailable.
Our calendar ends on July 31, 2008. How do I extend the calendar beyond July?

Thanks.

A simple question...

I'm an advanced Joomla user but there's one thing I can't do with Joomla. Here's my question:

My website will have normal registered users who will be able to see all the content in the site. What I want is to create different categories for the content and I want to assign particular users for these categories as admins. They will be responsible ONLY for the contents in that category and nothing else.

Can I do this using Drupal??

is there a way to modify my template for backend /front end?

I know that you can choose an administration theme but this stil gives me previews i n my normal theme.
is there a way to properly separate the front end from the back end a bit like wordpress?

wget - static archive

I am trying to create a static archive of a Drupal 4.4 and Drupal 4.7 based websites. The Drupal 4.7 based site was archived successfully. However, with Drupal 4.4 site I am able to fetch only first page of the website. I have checked my robots and .htaccess files, but they seem to be correctly configured for this job (minimum security - internal site behind firewall) .

Creating a static archive of a Drupal site: http://drupal.org/node/27882

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Shantanu.

"Inventing" a way of rewarding contributors

Hi everybody,

Forums are great to get advice, solutions, and help in general.

As a web designer using Drupal, I face those issues:

1. I find a solution to my problem thanks to an existing post or an answer from a member to my post.
I feel so glad when people are willing to help. That is the magic of the forums and the web.
Now, I cannot afford to pay support to a consultant for those kind of things, but I would be willing to reward the author of the post.

I believe there could be a system that would be included in every forum node, a bit like "Rate this post" in which one could send 1 dollar (or 1 unit of currency) to the answer. Even if it not much by itself, several users rewarding the answer would amount to something. So the best answers would be rewarded and the contributor rewarded.

2. I need something that doesn´t exist like an extension to a module or a whole module
Many people have those needs. The module maintainers rarely have time for that, and when they can do it, there is no due date, so people needing the code don´t know if they should wait.

It could be great to be able to have a list of micro project people would put money on so that the development would be accelerated.
Some people do that offering $X to any member who could do Y, but a community system might be much more powerful.
