Hi, I'm sorry you probably get tons of posts like this that are exactly the same.
I'm an intern for http://www.enthusiastgroup.com/ and I’ve designed a sample CSS page for them, so that hopefully in the future they would no longer be using Drupals default theme. The css design can be seen here: http://home.earthlink.net/~dancer4ever/new_revisions/home.html
I thought I'd try seeing if I could figure out how to incorporate my design into their currently set up drupal site, as a useful learning experience before dumping the task on my bosses know more than I know about doing this.
Unfortunately, I only know some CSS and HTML. I started reading from the Customization and theming section of the handbook. This resulted, unfortunately, in me becoming profusely confused, rather than in me knowing how to customize and theme.
So I guess where I’m going with this, as other newbies before me, where to start?
Can what I designed even be used? Is there a certain method of re-coding it, so that it can be used? Do I need to redesign it to use tables, so that I can easily (haha) mimick one of Drupal’s default designs? Do I need to be reading up on php and SQL before even trying to implement my design? Would I be less confused by reading the entire handbook, instead of starting in the middle, in the section that somewhat appeared to be about what I was looking to achieve? Is this something where I could just override that style.css and not have to bother with coding a theme file? Is this post even in the right section? Should I stop writing questions now, even though I know I can ask more?
