Hi looking into using Drupal to power all the sites I develop. I had written my own CMS however it took me a few months to bring things up to scratch and I was spending more time tweaking the CMS than actually working on the sites! Anyway that's just a brief intro. Been trying to get my head round the 'drupal' way looks very promising so far.
I'm a Drupal newbie who is in the midst of converting from Xoops. One module whose function I can't seem to replicate correctly is the Xoops Downloads module. Is this in the Drupal core or is there a Drupal module I should be using? I am looking to control who has access to files, based on the type of membership they have purchased.
Please go easy on me as I'm just starting out. A RTFM (or any other) pointer would be greatly appreciated.
II currently have a multisite drupal working well, except for one problem: only one of the sites is mine, and i don't necessarily want anyone else to be able to access squirrel mail or phpmyadmin unless they have logged into my site.
In other words, I would like to make certain directories on my filesystem only available to users who have authenticated with a specific drupal site/domain.
On a similar note, I have some small php web apps i've designed myself. Similarly, I can give everyone on the server access to these sites, but I only want myself to have it.
I am trying to put together an advertisement site for selling vehicles, and would like to use drupal to do it. I have done a bunch of reading in the handbook, but I can't figure this out. I basically have the gallery aspect working with cck, imagefield, imagecache, thickbox, etc and am using a custom content type to create the vehicle listing. However, I want to use taxonomy for flexible arrangement of the vehicles, but am having a problem figuring out how to best do this.
I am the webmaster at http://www.shimmeringdawn.com. We are a gaming group designed for the upcoming game Pirates of the Burning Sea. I have had many problems with my PHP-Nuke site (enabled with PHPBB2), and it just is not doing the things I want it to do.
I have many questions about Drupal before I decide upon switching.
I wrote a custom site administration system for a company a while back which sells stereo speakers. It allows them to manage their content fairly well, but it's not a generic solution. I was considering replacing my custom solution with a system built upon Drupal. I'll outline my thoughts below
