Integrating non-Drupal site-building packages to into a Drupal site

Hi

I am aware that additional features can be added to the core Drupal framework via modules. Is it possible though to seamlessly integrate non-Drupal packages - for example a forum software application offering some extra features - into a Drupal powered site? If so what are the criteria, does that package need to be PHP based?

Cheers

Profil fields in a block

Hi everybody,

I want to display some few users profile informations like first name, last name and country in a block, that is displayed on every page. I manage to display the users name ($user->name) and the profile picture.
But I can't get additional profile information, that are stored in customized profile fields.
I tried to do it the same way like it is described in the customization of the profile page (phptemplate and theme snippet). But it doesn't work. The fields seems to be empty. Below you can find an extract of the coding for the block:

Drupal is installed via the ports management system on a freebsd 6.2 server. This server also has few php based applications running on it ,hence i dont think this has to do with the php install , the DB is created(mysql) and the settings are modded in settings.php.

When the request is made via a browser : http://abc.com/drupal , this is what comes up -:

DrupalIt: How to add new filter for Views?

How can I create new filter for Views wich count number of votes?

Now I can show only nodes wich have 0 or mode votes by existing «Filter whether the node has drupalit votes or not».

For example: I need to show on some page only nodes wich have 5 or more votes.

An event registration system inside drupal site

Sorry if I placed this question in the wrong place (possible at the wrong time ^_^)

I am new to Drupal and have been looking around to fulfill this requirement I have for my current website project.
