2007 Hosting evaluations and recommends

Seeing we are almost a full month into 2007 I though we would start a new topic on hosting reviews and recommends

we pick it up from 2006 thread HERE

-----------------
I am currently using a shared hosting from WebHostingBuzz, and it is quiet good for my needs. I am getting the folowing, the 1st figure being what I have used and the 2nd is what I am allowed to use. All that for £48 or US$90 per year, very cheap compared to UK hosting.

web hosting with php and mysql support

Thanks.

buyHTTP.com

r0g is trying a buyHTTP.com reseller account, mentioned in http://drupal.org/node/100183#comment-188458, so I started this thread. Are you using buyHTTP.com? Which type of account? What is the result?

Here is r0j's comment so far:

Looking for a few hosting "roommates."

I'm looking into leasing a fully-managed dedicated linux box from Peer1 and was hoping to find some Drupal "roommates."

RedHat 4.0ES
Dual Opteron 265 Dual Core Processors
2 GB DDR RAM
2x73 GB SCSI HDs - RAID 1

Tivoli Data Backup (weekly full, daily incremental, 30-day retention)

Plesk 7.5 Reloaded

I plan to keep the load on this box down to no more than 20 mid to low volume sites. I'll be optimizing the apache configuration for drupal installs running on PHP5 and MySQL4.1. I want to keep this box as reliable as possible - no weird third-party stuff, no highly-vulnerable config settings. My goal is to create as solid a one-box hosting environment as possible for a handful of clients that can't afford for email and sites to go down. And I don't want to have to worry about server monitoring and maintenance.

(Personally, I'll also be outsourcing secondary DNS and MX records pointing to backup email servers - as well as adding page content monitoring.)

If you are interested, or have clients that are interested, I'm offering 10 Plesk accounts for $100/month each. I know that's high - but it will allow me to keep as few accounts on the machine as possible and provide us all with solid support. I'm not interested in making money off hosting - all funds will go back into server support services.
