List of Core Modules Issue

I'm not sure whether this is solely documentation or what, but the list of core modules at http://drupal.org/handbook/modules doesn't match the directory structure in the downloaded drupal-5.1.tar.gz.

Specifically:

1) "color" is included as a core module, but is not listed on the Core Modules page. I do not really know what this module does; it would be nice to have it documented here.

2) Neither "page" nor "story" have separate entries in the modules directory. I note that these two node types are included in the Default installation profile final hook, so I suspect they aren't technically separate modules, but are special circumstances node types. If that's the case, perhaps this should be clearly explained, the inclusion of them on the Core Modules page removed, and a better place found for explaining the exceptional node types Page and Story.

3) The core taxonomy module is listed here as "Categories (taxonomy)" which is extremely confusing--especially in light of the contributed module named "Category" (which is not compatible with all contributed modules, and can impact the core taxonomy module in unexpected ways). It should be called "taxonomy" to match what the module is actually called. There are other places where the term taxonomy is explained.

Questions about the documentation process; joining the docs team

In another thread I started (http://drupal.org/node/151626) Steven invited me to request admission to the docs team. I read "Contributing to Documentation" (http://drupal.org/node/24572) but have some questions first.

MySQL error was: Too many connections.

MySQL error was: Too many connections. Just got this message a few minutes ago... our server is hosting other non-drupal cms and php programs (joomla, coppermine) ... checking on those other sites, the same errors are displayed, as well as in phpmyadmin (coppermine site, same error of "too many connections," while joomla sites has an error message just the same)...

Drupal API documentation down -- page not found error

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but it appears that the drupal api docs are returning 'page not found' errors. See here: http://api.drupal.org/api/5

Head is also down: http://api.drupal.org/api/head

new to drupal -- is this a common occurence? Who is the best person to contact about this issue?

Brief table description list offered to review

I have been working with Drupal for a wile and was a big pleasure.

Finally I found the project and time to build a multisite installation but when I started to reflect about what tables to share, except of http://drupal.org/node/22754 I didn't find much information about drupal's tables so I did my own documentation.

It's not very much precise, but hopefully enough to get an idea of the whole picture.

I will post it as .ods or .xls files (easier to sort) as soon as I finish reinstalling my testing server, but until then, here you have an standard CSV that you can import in your favorite spreadsheet application:

"TABLE","MODULE","CORE","DESCRIPTION","MULTISITE (if you want different sites with same/shared...)","If shared, requires to share the following “packs”... (underconstruction)","Scenario 1: Single sign on","Scenario 2: Content base","Scenario 3: Multilang interface","Scenario 4:
My research groups","x = shared
o = optional
NEVER... is NEVER :-)"
"access","user","x","User's access privileges","Users",,"x",,,,"access"
"accesslog","statistics","x","User's access registering","Statistics",,,,,,"accesslog"
"actions","actions",,"Node related actions","Actions",,,,,"x","actions"
"actions_registry","actions",,"Node related actions registering","Watchdog",,,,,"x","actions_registry"

Wiki for Drupal documentation?

Via search, I've found a variety of discussions over time about using a Wiki to host Drupal documentation. What's the current thinking on this? Are there any plans to move Drupal docs to a Wiki? Is any work on this in progress?

My two cents: I think it's a great idea and am willing to lend support.

Thanks,

Walter
