Translations

Hello,
I am very new to Drupal and CMS. After receiving some help from the 'Before you Start' forum I have translation somewhat working on my test site.

I know have the Language Switcher English/french button on the right side. I also have the English or French button on the bottom of my main page. The issue is this. If I am in the Englsih main page and click on french at the botto of the screen ... the page will translate to french. If I then select english at the bottom of the page it will change to the english page. Which is great.

but the issue is this.

When I first go to my test site it defaults to english, which is ok for now BUT if I use the Language Switcher button on the RIGHT hand side of the screen and click french the main page does not change to french. But if I use the small french button on the bottom of the main page it changes to french.

It should be noted in the IE address bar when I select french in the side language switcher bar the url changes to
www.mysite.com/drupal6/fr but the mainpage is still english but if I click the french button at the bottom of the mainpage the url changes to www.mysite.com/drupal6/fr/node/5 and the main page is now french

How can I get the Langauge switcher on the right on side of the screen working ?

Hello.

So I used content translation capability to make a page node available in two languages. Now I want to make sure this content is promoted to the front page and displayed in the appropriate language. No dice: front page promotion feature seems to be pretty low-level, bypassing the content translation layer. If I promote the English version, it will be on the front page regardless of what language is set in the browser options, if I promote both English and Russian, both will display. How do I solve this?

Im working on a site which needs multi language transulation.

Im using i18n ,internationalization, etc .

I want site in spanish, catalan and english. also i have imported es.po,ca.po
but some of the words are not transulating.

can any one have a patch file for this.

or do any one have another idea.

my question is about Switcher Language block (Drupal 6.10)
I have activated this block (2 languages: Spanish & Valenciano). It works perfectly in all website except from the home page (home page=node type page, menus and blocks don't switch language). Only works wrong from home page, from other nodes works OK.
Somebody knows what happens?

I need to customize my template (prospoint) to support RTL (right-to-left) layout. and i don't know How to ! I'd appreciate anyone's here.

FYI I added a new Language That is aligned Right to left ( i.e Arabic) , Created a new story and selected the Arabic language. Eveything looks fine when creating a story but when published the teaser, thumbnail, Headlines, and content are all aligned Left to right instead of Right to left.

I'm have a site with an English / Spanish translation.
cfg: admin/settings/language/configure to Path prefix only

I was having trouble with the content translation links.. they don't appear to be linking to the side of the site as defined by the path prefix setting. All of the menu items disappear and such like that...

example: node/1 is the english page, node/2 is the translated. it only links to "node/2" and not "es/node/2" as we would need to ensure the menu translations are accurate.
