Theme development

I am not experienced with Drupal. Making only the second website (comfortable with Joomla)

I don't find how to add images to slides. Some time ago I added 2 images but now I don't find. I added new images through FTP in right place total 6 images but they are not shown in slides. I have the same two ... instead of four or 6 images. In theme settings I don't find how to manage titles on the images as well

Howdy! I'm new to Drupal and am still tinkering around on my first site. I am using Bartik but would like to have the drop down menu capability for the main menu. I found this post https://www.drupal.org/node/1508652 describing steps for me to implement the Superfish module as a main menu styles as the original Bartik menu. However, that post is several years old and has a lot of unresolved questions. I tried to follow the steps in the post and the suggestions in the comments, but haven't been able to get anything to work.

My client gave me a paid for theme to use for his site and then asked for a bunch of changes. I feel it might be easier to start over with a more vanilla theme so that I'm not undoing someone else's work and re doing it and figuring out how they did this and that so that I can add on to it. What is the best vanilla like theme to start with? I have to make a custom menu and use isotope and packery jquery plugins to make it all work. What would you recommend?

I want / need to do this effect for a site, where when you click on a menu item like "work" it takes you to the page for work but then when you click on the sub menu options under "work" it uses jquery to give you the content without actually changing the url. I'm sure this has been asked but I'm not finding it so hopefully someone can answer quickly. Our site uses the Bartik Plus theme and we've been getting complaints that the font size is too small on the drop down menus when you hover over the main tabs. From research I have done, it appears that can't be easily changed without switching themes?
