We'll have our "almost monthly" DC Drupal Meetup on Monday, December 18th at the Science Clue (1136 19th Street, NW). We'll start at 7 pm with $3 Yuenglings and then get some presentations going. This month we'll be in the basement and we'll have a little more room.

The European Commission is launching the next FP7 IST research programme.

We are attending all these workshops and informative sessions oin order to fit our ideas and proposals to the official programme.
We want to present a "Social Intelligent" proposal into the Trusted Network objective of the first call.
We are preparing the ULICA proposal for next FP7 call-1. The second proposal of project "RSS MeshUp for ULICA" has to develop a second application for authentication, characterization of the users and integrate mobile users and applications.
The proposals have to build a multi-disciplinary consortium of 7-9 experts.
The budget can be around 1MEUR (50-90.000EUR for partner).
The 2 years workplan has to include a dissemination plan. The deadline of the submission is April-07.
This Friday in BXL I would like to discuss about the "Future of Internet" with some interested Drupaler. :-)

I sincerely believe, that a collaboration CONSEN-DrupalCAT-Drupal can create a powerful synergistic effects EU-US.

Internet has been extraordinarily successful and is now a critical part of our economy’s infrastructure. However its limitations due to the design made in the seventies start hampering its potential. Evolutionary improvements to the current network will help sustaining up to a point the growth of the Internet, but are not seen as being enough to face the deep rooted weaknesses of Internet as regards mobility, scalability, wireless generalisation and security.
