I launched a website http://www.hotopeople.com.

It is a place for people to submit and vote for anything and also a "Recommend System" for discover new friends and something new in life.

People can find someone else who share similar tastes by an automatic analysis based on users' votes. The more members and votes, the better it will recommend to users.

This is DC Comic's foray into webcomics.

NOTE: This is *not* my site and I have nothing to do with it except enjoy some of the content, but it's running Drupal, has a great look & feel and demonstrates, yet again, that not all Drupal sites need look alike.

Did a forum/site search to see if it was posted before and nothing came up, but apologies if I just missed it and this is a dup.

I just wanted to announce that my new site (and company) has just launched, and it's using Drupal to run the site.

www.bloggersguild.net is the new company, and it's currently undergoing all the paperwork to become a non-profit organization.

What we offer are a number of things, some in the background, others in the foreground. In the foreground we will offer:

• Stories and articles related to blogging written by a number of guest bloggers that are considered the best in their field (IE monetizing your blog, editing your blog, etc)
• Full forums to meet with other bloggers and discuss day to day blogging questions
• Full link directories
• Ability to post to find jobs for blogging, as well as to post blogging jobs

In the background:

• A group that is out to change laws to help protect bloggers (IE Shield Law)
• Legal aid to bloggers, offered free of charge

The site is going to be fully donation run, as well as volunteer run. Anyone is more than welcome to ask to volunteer for anything from being a guest blogger to doing a theme for the site, to creating a logo. We will have several levels of donations including monthly donations, one time donations. We are also going to offer merchandise if you wish to show your support (Pending logo).

The new Gospel Music Channel site launched today. Power by Drupal. It's a little project Achieve Internet did with our friends at Sudden Industries.

Congratulations to Dries on the financing of Acquia

I am just a delighted Drupal user. Like many of us I use Drupal to host specialist community web sites, with limited budget and limited access to technical resources.

Once again a big thank you to the many experts who have so freely offered code snippets, suggestions and such - so that people like me can build such professional solutions.

My area of experience and expertise, which I would like to offer back to the community, is in search, specifically for this post in search term and content based Internet advertising.

This is not for you if you have 1000's of users per hour, and millions of page impressions - stop now!

For us smaller guys, we get it - to generate advertising revenue we must display advertising (banners, texts etc.) to the users visiting the content on our sites.

But this is where the fun begins:

First - we do not want our sites to be filled with intrusive banner advertising - this is not why we have built them. In fact we are explicitly against this - and in my case would rather pay the costs of the site myself.

By the way 1&1 really do seem to have their stuff together when it comes to hosting Drupal, osCommerce and Openads.
