Show off your Drupal site

Although I use numerous modules, the highlight of this site is the Gmap and Location modules. There are scores of equine directories on the internet, but I have never seen one that employs google mapping.

This site uses the Marinelli theme, which I customized somewhat intensively. The rotating banner images were created in photoshop, using images of horse paintings by the famous 18th century British painter George Stubbs. All the Stubbs paintings depict bay horses.

This site was created within a few weeks to support the release of the Child Soldiers Global Report 2008, prepared by the Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers, a London-based NGO:

It's a pretty straight forward site with a theme based on zen. The majority of the work was inputting the data associated with the report, which is created every four years by the Coalition to highlight the use and recruitment of children within armed conflict.

The Cook Political Report is a Web site devoted to providing subscribers with political analysis of U.S. presidential, House, Senate and governor elections and campaigns. The site relaunched recently in Drupal, drastically improving the workflow for content publishers and improving usability for readers.

About the Project

The Cook Political Report is a Washington DC-based institution with a 24-year history. It began as a printed newsletter for subscribers and moved online in 2004. Cook Political’s niche is in rating political races on a 7-point scale and by keeping track of all data related to each election. This includes names and parties of candidates, fundraising numbers, filing and election dates, partisanship of a state or district, and more. The principal, Charlie Cook, is widely regarded as one of the nation’s leading authorities on U.S. elections and political trends.

Until the Drupal-based site was launched, Cook Political staff published their reports and analyses as PDF files. This caused major headaches for them because many files had to be updated even if only one piece of data changed. When approaching the redesign of the site, the client’s number one requirement was a Content Management System that allowed content editors to make global changes to data and text.

This site was done in 4.7, and does not currently have the backward capability yet. The current module that was just produced is for 6.0 only.

Well, the festival itself is over, however I did want to share this with the comminuty. At times during this project, I consulted the community for help and this is what we came up with. The results really helped the organization with their business and we hope the direction in future years is only better!

I haven't done a lot of drupal jobs, however this one came along well and we're really proud of it.
