FourthBranch.US Social Network for US Legislation

Hi Everyone,
I am posting my website, Fourth Branch, http://www.fourthbranch.us, for you to take a look at. I have recently been asking a lot of questions and searching on the forums and have benefited greatly from everyone's input. I figure here is as good a place as any to announce the launch of our website in its beta state. If anyone is interested in seeing how we used Drupal to build a social network around US Legislation, check out the site. A lot isn't done and many things are unrefined, but we went straight for core functionality first just to launch.

--------------------------------------------------

Do you know what is being voted on and passed in Congress?
Do you know what your money is being spent on?
Do you know who the biggest contributors to the political parties are?

The volume of legislation that is voted on and signed is enormous. Often this amount is so large that the necessary government officials are barely able to read it. Recently, not a single member of the US Congress was able to read the entire American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Economic Stimulus Bill), totaling over 1,000 pages in length and costing nearly $1 trillion dollars! This can lead to dangerous "pork barrel" legislation slipping by that benefits only certain groups or individuals and not the people as a whole.

Dynamically Auto-Populating Flash Menu Using AS3/PHP (No AMFPHP Required)

This was a personal project that I had been working on recently. I wanted to do a more flash centric theme redesign, but I still wanted to use Drupal for controlling my menus and automatically updating content categories. This of course required that I come up with a reliable way of populating a flash menu based on changes to Drupal's SQL database. After a little bit of trial and error I think I finally came up with a solution that works well enough to be considered stable. I posted about this on my blog, but I thought I would add a post here in case anyone else was looking for something similar.

Dynamically Auto-Populating Flash Menu Using AS3/PHP (No AMFPHP Required)

My main reason for avoiding AMFPHP is that there is not a recommended release of the required services module available for Drupal 6 users. Not that this solution is perfect, but since it does not tie into Drupal directly, this method easily sidesteps any possible stability concerns in regards to Drupal itself.

Major Scandinavian Trucking Transport company [Edit: Major update]

Ahola Transport is a successful Scandinavian trucking transportation company which has more than three-doubled during the last decade, expanding first to the Baltic states, and is today offering trucking transportation door-to-door in the continental Europe, with a capacity around 300 trailers.

Ahola Transport has a unique concept without fixed routes or terminals, which enables continuous optimization of the routes by Ahola's staff, aided by the company's self-developed, concept based IT-system. This way of working has resulted in efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly transports.

Drupal Website

In order to reach out to it's new, very multilingual, market (the EU), Ahola needed a CMS capable of handling multiple languages, and behaving well with search engines. These requirements were more than well met by Drupal. We at RIL Partner were responsible for the whole project, from a slight refresh of the design, to transfering content from the old website, the Drupal implementation and SEO.
