Post installation

I install a drupal server on a local network.(install on one of client , not the server). The web server install on the PC is Apache. I want to have a try to connect this drupal server from the other PC. So I open the browser and type http://HOSTNAMEOF THAT PC/drupal. It's fine. However, once I type the user name and the password on the drupal login page and press "Login" .

I am having an issue displaying PDF files inside the browser window. It appears any PDF files uploaded do not work. IE has this problem and Firefox does not. I have seem this problem around the forums but no solid solutions.

Hi folks, I'm running a slightly old version of drupal (4.4.0?), but I'm wondering if there's any way to configure filters which convert line-breaks to "br" tags. I understand that drupal determines a few things via the content entered, but I need an override. Is this possible?

I'm trying to install image.module, but as I read it requires requires ImageMagick, GD or ImLib2. I tried to install ImageMagick, but I couldn't. Do you have any experince with this?

I've got a problem with nodes not being found when using a domain in the form:-

http://demo-portal.mydomain.co.uk/?q=admin

It gives the drupal error "Page not found" and I cannot access the admin section to try and change anything.
I'm using the same drupal installation to run another domain so the actual code installation must be fine. Is there something wrong in the mod_rewrite code maybe?
