Post installation

I want a horizontal menu and I only want it on certain pages. So i tried out the Nice-menu model. But HOW do I get it horizontal??
I have enabled it in blocks and configured it "down". But when I activate it I have to chose right or left and whichever i chose the menu will be vertical.
I use the box-grey theme.

If anyone knows how to put a horizontal menu on certain pages in another way than Nice menu I'll gladly take that advice too.

I have installed the image module, but whenever I upload an image, it won't show the image. It seems to know what size the image should be because the outline is the correct size, but the white box with a red x is in it saying there is no image. I'm not sure what's going on with that,.

I am trying to get the search form working. When I try to search for things with and without wildcards it always turns up with a message saying search yiedled 0 results. Not sure what else I have to do to get this to work.

I installed the forms module and made it active, but I can't seem to find it anywhere on the front page... Any ideas?

Is there a limit to the size of a file that a user can upload to the forums? I have tried uploading a 4.75 MB file and it doesn't show up.

I have been bashing my head against a brick wall trying to get the Forums to work on my test site. Having read as much of the literature as I can, I'm still not able to get them to work. It seems that when a users posts a new forum topic, it gets posted elsewhere as content, and does not get listed under the forum containers or in the forum node at all. I have Forum, Taxonomy and Comments enabled, and Ihave checked the access control levels. None of these seem to help. This is a showstopper. If Drupal can't help . . . anybody got a solution?
