Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Trimming posts on OG group page

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but I can't seem to get the posts that are shown on the home page of a group to be trimmed. I set the node seeting to trim at 200 words, but I'm getting 1000 word+ segments of posts on the group page. The content type at issue is a book page, if that matters.

I'm using drupal 4.7 beta/CVS

the version of the OG module is:

// $Id: og.module,v 1.138 2006/03/01 17:26:32 webchick Exp $

Thanks in advance for your help!

Share node-type across multisite installation ?

Hi there,

I have a multisite drupal installation, and shared the user tables. All is working well, which brings me to my next step. Is it posible to share a certain node-type from the master database with the multisites. Like: all the different multisites have their own story nodes, stored in their own database. But the page nodes are stored in the main site database, and shared with the subsites. So what i wan't to do is: i'd like to store certain node-types local en certain node-types centralized.

I hope somebody can point me out in right direction.

Grouping of terms

Hi,

So I created a sub category for my story posts and then also called a forum the same name. Its a real shame what when you are grouping by Category it does not group both of these together - this would allow people to see the posts from both stories and forum entries?

Search not working ?

Hi (again)

So it looks like for some reason search ain't working - I've read through some of the other posts and it mentions crontab although I'm sure my hosting company wont let me do that ... When I search I get no results found which would signify the search action is working but indexing isnt ?

Thoughts?

Moving drupal

Hi,

So firsly drupal ? Where has it been all my life :) I've been considering moving from blogger for a few months now and I love drupal, the look, the feel and the configuration. I think we have a winner.

How do I give registered users extra content from a node>

How can I set up an article so that a visitor sees a one page article and a registered user sees a longer page with more detail or possibly several pages?

The closest I could find was the use of blocks to show extra content to registered users. Write the summary in a public block and the detail in a private block. The mixture would limit the way information is presented and create a problem if there was not a one to one relationship between private and public information.
