Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Drupal works too slow

Hi, I have migrated phpbb to drupal 4.6.5. I am using two P4 3.0Ghz with 2G RAM. (One for mysql 4.1, one for apache(php 5.1.2))

The average number of concurrent users are about 50(registered user) / 900(anonymous).

The problem is... drupal is too slow compared to phpbb. I have enabled cache but still too slow.

white screen making me pull my hair out...I think its a simple prob. but can't find it. help!?

I checked the error log and here's what I get:
so it's obviously this select and session problem. I emptied the mysql table "cache" and tried a few other things, but no luck! help!!!!

Webserver acceleration or Drupal Caché

Hello,

what system do you prefer to optimize drupal perfomance.

Enable php compression + eaccelerator or Drupal cache? I´ve read that both systems collude because drupal saves gzipped pages in drupal cache resulting on a double compression, so what´s the best?

Thanks in advance, Simon.

PayPal Buy Now Button problems

I have created an item with a buy now button for PayPal; it seemed easier than using the full e-commerce cart because I only have one item and there is no shipping. The problem is that when it the user comes back from the paypal site, they are logged out of Drupal. It's strange because I'm always logged in, even when I close the browser, aside from this paypal issue.

Anonymous users can access pages but not stories?

Is there any way to change the access restrictions so anyone can view pages, but only registered users can view stories?

Drupal Without Cookies?

A significant luddite movement has formed in my organization since the implementation of Drupal. They're demanding the removal of any cookie requirements at all from our site.

Frankly, I'm unsympathetic. However, for the sake of completeness, what is the likelihood of a Drupal installation without any cookies at all? Does it work? Yes? No?

Thanks!
