Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Problem enabling comments in forum, even though forum topic has it set to read/write comments as default

Greetings,
I have a clean install of 4.7rc3, along with organic groups. I've set up the drupal forum, enabled the comments module and access to it as well as setting the forum topic default to read/write comments. The problem is that whenever a user posts a new topic to the forum (this is not the og_forum) it doesn't default to read/write comments. Each new topic has a lock on it so users can't reply to forum topics.

Profile Photos - Can we moderate/censor these?

Hi there

I'd like to enable users to upload their photos using administer/settings/users & enabling picture support. But I'm a bit worried that some users may abuse this and upload 'dodgy' photos to their profiles.

Is there any way that we can moderate/censor photos before they go live on the site? Or have you found that this isn't a problem?

Thanks

Difficulties of duplicating your existing site.

We have built a site that we are happy with. We would now like to take that exact same site, change the color scheme a bit and launch another site with the same functionality as the original site. We have installed a few modules and had some custom work done for us. (not many changes to the database itself).

Does one have the ability to copy all the drupal files into a new directory, point to the correct database (which has been copied from the original drupal db), setup the domain name properly, flush out the node table, and create a replica of the first site?

Has comment approval changed in 4.7?

Am I crazy or has there been a big change in how comments get approved in 4.7

I just upgraded my site to 4.7rc3 and am experiencing some new behavior and am not sure if it is intended or not. All comments on our site go into the approval cue and people who have admin priv. have to approve them.

But now if you have admin priv. you get to see the comments on the pages. Even though they are NOT PUBLISHED they are showing up on the website to people with admin priv. If you are logged out you don't see them.

Embedding videos

Hi,

Anyone out there knows the steps to embed videos from other sites? The problem I'm facing is that Drupal has a rather complicated procedure to add the video onto my site. I just want users to come add or embed their videos on my site with ease and not with having to key in video size x,y etc which I reckon can be off-putting.

Thanks

Internal link w/image using l(...)?

I have images on my homepage that I want to link to internal pages, with the correct URL aliased paths and so forth. Was just reviewing the api entry for the l() internal link, and tried it - but seems to only handle text.

I can do this, but the url aliases are lost:
