Comments question.

I've disabled the module that allows people to leave comments, because I can't figure out how to make it NOT show up on certain pages. However, even though it's disable, it still says "log in to leave a comment/add a comment" at the bottom. How do I change this?

Content question concerning making a page.

I'm fairly new to Drupal, but I'm slowly catching on. I'm suffering from an odd problem, however, and I'm sure the answer is under my nose.

I would like to know how to make a page without the "author" and "authored on" part. I would like to know how to leave that off and just have text. I just want it to be a normal page, not an "entry" of any sort. Is there a way to acheive this?

Content type vs. category/taxonomy

OK, I think I'm starting to get a handle on the differences between the default taxonomy module and the Category module, though I'm still not entirely certain which I need (details on what I'm trying to do here, but the quick version is: six main categories, with the same several content types in each -- articles, news, web reviews, book reviews, etc. -- and sometimes subcategories within those).

But one of the things that's confusing me is that I'm not entirely clear on how content type (or node type?) interacts with categories or taxonomies. For example, this site will have book reviews among other things, and I know I can create a book reviews category/term/tag/whatsit with either approach, but I also downloaded a book reviews module -- how would I make sure that all content submitted into the book reviews category uses the book reviews module rather than the default stories or pages or whatever? Or if I were to find a module for a web link directory (something I'm still looking for), how would I make sure content submitted to that area used that module? If I just create a category, is there some way of tying it to a particular module or content type?

Also, slightly fuzzy on the stories vs pages thing. Is the difference that stories are expected to outdate and pages are permanent? If so, again, is there some way of tying parti
