Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Email requests not going out

(I have posted this as a follow on to a different thread, but it seems to be inactive)

First off... Drupal 4.7 rocks my world! Now on to the meat...

I use Postfix for my MTA and I have set the a proper "from:" mail user (band@chubbyjams.com) in Administer>settings>general settings>Email address. When requesting a new password for a user (say jeff@chubbyjams.com) the mail doesn't go out.
Running
tail -f /var/log/maillog
I notice the following:

May 8 23:19:06 peter postfix/smtp[23784]: 3F58413850B: to=<band@chubbyjams.com>, relay=mail.one.net[64.89.70.104], delay=6, status=bounced (host mail.one.net[64.89.70.104] said: 553 5.1.8 <www@peter.jfeige.net>... Domain of sender address www@peter.jfeige.net does not exist (in reply to MAIL FROM command))

jfeige.net is my internal domain and peter is the hostname of the machine. www is the owner of the apache process. I don't know why it is not using the defined FROM: in Drupal. This configuration used to work fine in Drupal 4.6, but...

Telnetting in to the SMTP server and setting

MAIL FROM: band@chubbyjams.com
RCPT TO: jeff@chubbyjams.com
DATA
Hey look ma, it works
.

results in:

May 9 01:24:49 peter postfix/qmgr[18400]: 5019A1383B1: from=, size=378, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
May 9 01:24:51 peter postfix/smtp[27850]: 5019A1383B1: to=, relay=mail.one.net[64.89.70.104], delay=22, status=sent (250 2.0.0 k495On9h005078 Message accepted for delivery)

Blogs and Stories don't show up as "promoted to front page" unless I am logged in as admin

I've tried creating a story and a blog entry today, published and promoted to front page, but the only time it shows up in its proper place on my website is when I'm logged in. When I log out the post / story / blog entry disappears from the front page, from "Recent" posts etc. I've tried messing with the post date, checked the record in the database, everything on the post looks good when I'm logged in. Any ideas why it would disappear when I log out?

Contering text in titles.

Is it possible to center the text on webpage titles? Or is it possible to somehow make it so that you CAN use titles, but don't HAVE to?

tags don't work.

4.6.x Sitemap doesn't update

I recently upgraded to 4.6.6 and I am using the 4.6.0 sitemap. Well, it doesn't update the recent blogs section. It seemed to list most authors when first installed, but if someone new registers and blogs - they do not get added to the site map.

My crons run normally and I've run them manually a few times. I've disabled it and re-enabled it. I've searched the site here and didn't see anything of a similar nature.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance.

Photoshop files (7.0 and CS2) will not upload

I am unable to upload jpegs or gifs created by either version of Photoshop. I opened the same images with Paint and resaved as jpegs with a new name, and they uploaded but the image quality was poor. Photos from other sources (untouched by my Photoshop) uploaded fine, with high quality.

I am running image, img_assist (4.7) and TinyMCE.

User picture - wrong address

Hi there,

another issue - added user picture is not displayed. Picture is succesfully uploaded on the filesystem to files/pictures, but Drupal is trying to display picture on this location http://www.myweb.com/user/80/files/pictures/picture-1.jpg (doesn't work), but picture is on this location: www.myweb.com/files/pictures/picture-1.jpg (this works). Thank you.
