Post installation

I have installed drupal for tests, and never have come acroos this issue. When ever I am on the index page I can't get the right sidebar to show, but when viewing nodes it show up, Its very strange. I looked and can't find where an option for it would be. Is it something I did an option I am over looking? I searched for about 45 minutes to see if anyone has had the same problem, haven't seen anything yet.

I have a few primary links; however, I was wondering... how do you get a primary link to be displayed in a new window and sized rather then _self.

In other words... rather then having the page change to the link upon click.
I would like the link to be opened in a new window and be able to be sized (java script)?

I have been putting this off for a long while, but I finally would like to remove "create content" from the main nav when only one node type is available. I simply want to replace "create content" with "create blog" or whatever. However, if the user can create 2 or more node types then "create content" should appear as normal.

Can someone clue me in or point me to where this is documented? Thanks.

I want the search results for my site displayed on the sidebar in a block. how can i do this I have a very special need for the results to display there. Help really needed thanks

There is an ajax chat module at (http://drupal.org/node/27689?time=1153499782) it has a few bugs (it uses login instead of sessions) and i really do need this chat so users can chat with there buddies i feel this module is really needed by drupal. I don't know much php but i am willing to make a donation to who ever can port this thing to 4.7 and make it work.

The group is private, but the forum shows up in the forum listing, and lets anyone post in it. I tried OG Groups, but those groups showed up in the forums listing as well. What is with this?
