Post installation

I have a spanish Drupal site, today I entered to the site, and I saw that the special characters (accents for example) changed, like if the database changed its collation. The characters changed this way:

¡ = ¡
ó = ó
ñ = ñ
à = í
á = a
ú = ú
é = é
¿ = ¿

Any clues?

I have a 4.7.4 Drupal version

I'm converting my old site which has its current sub-content category indexes in www.example.com/media/ and www.example.com/news/

On my new Drupal categories, I have the stories popping up in .../news/band_news/title_of_article or whatever sub-category and title I specify on the content creation page. The trouble is that I need to design a page at the /news/ that has links to my legacy content, along with summaries of recent nodes of this type.

I have seen several questions that come every so often by newbies, like myself, such as, How to turn off "Submitted By", and several others ones.
The FAQ should be sticky in the forum, and should be encouraged for newbies to read, and everyone else.
All modules, documentations should have a link to the FAQ page.

I have a problem with the i18n module under Drupal 4.6. You can find all the details here. I've already found the solution, but I need a hint from someone that use that module or one of the developer to find out at which point in the code I have to do the changes or if it's simply a matter of changing the configuration.

How do I remove the login feature? I only want to be able to login with ?q=user

The RSS icons in the browser were the url is.

You can see it in Opera and FireFox, but not in IE.

How can I get rid of the orange RSS icon please?
