Post installation

I'm currently using TAC lite on my new (5.x) drupal site.

It works good, I just have two problems:

1) (probably easy one) In forums, I would like to assign certain sub-forums or containers to user groups (via role or vocabulary) so they can view them (and others cannot). I don't seem to be able to do it either way - I can block certain topics (works fine), but not the certain forums or containers themselves.

I installed FileManager and Attachment modules.
I enabled both modules and their use with pages in public mode. I also disabled upload module.
I created a page and attached a few files: they currently show at the bottom of the node.

The link associated to the module is correct: http://www.mysite.com/system/files/active/0/filename.txt but when I click on it I get a Drupal "page not found" error.

This may be easy, I'm not sure. Would it be possible to create a hyperlink that automatically adds a role to a user?

Why must I disable my menu blocks to get them to appear only once?

If I enable either of the new menus I have created, they appear twice. If I disable them they only appear once but not even close to where I want them.

Very new to Drupal here and trying to use the Democratica theme.

Drupal 4.7.5, Firefox 1.5

I edited the content on the front page. But it won't take. I have tried clearing all content in firefox, but it didn't help.

If I go back, and do an edit->preview, the content is correct. Or if I log in as an admin, and click "read more" the content is correct. But for regular viewers, the content does not update.

It's the "read more" part that doesn't update. The other part seems to update.

Could this have anything to do with me having the cache on?
