Post installation

On a new site, I want to make a "homepage" for each category.
On these pages the same blocks appear in different flavors:

- an image related to the categorie
- infotext related to this category
- teasers related to a category
- blogpost of this category
- ...

I have different questions on how to set up such a page.
- Can I use an extension of the taxonomy module to do this?
- Do I need a different approach and make a page for each term?
- How do I link the teasers to a category?
...

I want to display posts by a user

for example, when visting user profile page http://drupal.org/user/26979, I can click a link or a tab to show this user recent posts page http://drupal.org/user/26979/post. Maybe like track tab in user profile page.

Is it possible to list all the terms in a vocabulary on a page with its content in a list with link?

for example:

Term 1:
- list node 1
- list node 2
- list node 3
Term 2:
- list node 1
- list node 2
Term 3:
- list nod 1

I noticed that the text in comments or in the titles of comments is not "seen" by the site search function. Is there a toggle for this somewhere, is something amiss?

I hope someone can answer this. I have searched the drupal site and can't find an answer.

I've been experimenting with News and SimpleNews and think I want to use News. However, it seems to only work in conjunction with an outside mail list server -- via the MLM module.

The problem is, from what I can tell -- but I can't find a definitive answer -- MLM requires you use a EZMLM or EZMLM-idx server, just as Mailman requires you use a Mailman server. Is this true? I can't find any documentation to specifically confirm this.

I am a newbie - I got the aggregator working, and also I installed the news_page module. This allowed me to filter content from a feed. I am looking forward to seeing this work, but being a newbie, it seems that I'm missing something in my configuration - and add to that a not yet clear understanding of categories/pages/ or whatever (sorry - I'm not grasping the order of things clearly just yet).

I now have on my sidebar menu the following:

news aggregator (at this level, i'm seeing all of the entries for the single feed that I subscribed to - the breadcrumbs are
HOME and on the page there is a big title "News Aggregator")
categories (at this level i'm seeing only the headlines for a few of the entries from the feed - the breadcrumbs
home>news aggregator and the big title is "Categories")

my topic (at this level, I'm seeing the same entries for the feed I see at the top level (news aggregator) and
I see breadcrumbs home>news aggregator>categories, with the main title mytopic. I have the option here to
view, categorize or configure (I'm logged in)
