Please forgive a newbie for probably asking a question that's been asked before but searching through these forums hasn't revealed an answer yet (at least that I can understand).
I'm just curious if there's a way to set up an email updates page or block on Drupal for those lazier surfers out there who don't want to create an account on a site. It would be best if the emails and other information asked along with the email address (i.e.: zip code, First and Last name, etc...) would be stored in the SQL database along with the other Drupal tables. Any ideas?
I have tried combinations with CCK, Contemplate, Panels and php template editing, but can't achieve the affect I want. I have added a custom field "Pull Quote" to the Page Content Type. I want to be able to display that field in the sidebar.
I don't want a list or a random quote, I just need the filed displayed that was entered on that page. I can get it to display but only in the main content column not in the sidebar where my design needs it. I totally comfortable editing the php templates but haven't found a solution.

Ok, so I've created a block called 'my drafts' where a user can access content that they have created and set the workflow state to 'draft' which is set to the action 'unpublish node'. This is the code that brings up the list:
