Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Assign a role based on IP address

Anyone familiar with a module or way of assigning a role based on an incoming IP address?

I've read around and seen some hacks for user.module, but I'd rather not go that route if there's something cleaner or something I'm not seeing!

Themeing CCK fields

Hi all,

I've read through the CCK Handbook, but can't seem to find the solution I'm looking for.

I have created a new node type where the user can input an external url (e.g. http://drupal.org), how do I make the node's title link to that URL?

I've done it before in Drupal 4.7, but am not sure now for 5.x

This is what I have in my node-x.tpl.php file:

Use of the Categories module in 5.1 with the taxonomy module

I have had a look at the categories module and wonder what are the advantages and disadvantages of using it compared to the core taxonomy module.

If I create terms using the taxonomy module and then install the categories module will the old terms continue to be available. What happens if I create terms using the categories.module and then uninstall it. Will thouse terms contrinue to work with the taxonomy?

Links doesn't work after moving server

This is my first time trying to move Drupal to another server. Are there many things to change in order to get it to work?
After I've moved, no links in "http://localhost/admin/settings" are linked anymore, I can't click them, they are just plain text...

Google Supplement penalty becasue of url rewrite - node/1 and this-is-page have same content- How to solve this ?

I am using Drupal which has page names as example.com/node/21 but I am also using url rewrite so same page becomes example.com/this-is-page . Now Google see these as two pages with same content, putting both in supplement. Infact my whole site is under supplement results. What can I do ? I am sure someone must have solved this problem.

What is the best way to create a navigational system based on the taxonomy?

Hello everyone,

I am experimenting with different navigational schemes for a site and I think one based on taxonomy vocabularies and terms will be the most flexible and maintainable.

I am using Drupal 5.1 and I notice that most of the obvious Taxonomy navigation modules are only available for 4.7.x e.g. Taxonomy Menu, Taxonomy DHTML, Taxonomy Browser.

What is the best way of building a taxonomy based navigational system in Drupal 5.1?

Any assistance greatfully accepted,

Peter
