Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

GD library DLL installed in PHP but not Drupal doesn't see it - novice in need of inspiration

I have PHP 5.2/Drupal 5.1 running on local XP machine. I have copied php_gd2 to C:/../PHP/ext and amended php config file to include the extension. Still get the 'The GD library for PHP is missing or outdated' message on the status report. Not sure what I have to do to get it up and running. I've got no idea how to compile the GD library or with what compiler - I copied the DLL from a PHP 4.x.x download as it is no longer included in 5.2. What am I missing here?

Sorry if this is a pure PHP problem but all I know about PHP is how to spell it!

Menu and content makes: page not found

Hi,

I've enabled the "path" module, created my 1st content "hello world" :) In the "URL path settings" I entered "hello world" and on the main page, when I can access the 1st post, it's pointing me to "/hello+world", which is fine.

Now I'd like to assign this post to a menu item.

I created a "menu item" called "posts", with "path" "posts". Now back to the content managent I assigned in "Menu settings" my "hello world" to the "parent item" -> "posts".

How can I put $_GET variables in menu paths?

If I set a menu path as "support/contact?convtrck=false" it comes out as "support/contact%3Fconvtrck%3Dfalse", which will not work. Is there a way to keep the '?' in there?

Cannot upload Garland style files to a hosting provider.

I cannot upload the changed style.css in the Garland color directory.
All the files in the directory "file system path"\color\garland-xxxxxxx\ are made 644 by the Garland template module. It looks like Apache is the owner of the files. So I can't upload a modified style.css with ftp.
I get: "550 style.css: Permission denied"
trying to upload the new css. I can't create a new file either. The dir has 755. The "file system path" has 777.

Is it possible to change the "Request a new Password" Page?

Hey guys, I've been using the Drupal CMS for a school project similar to facebook/myspace, and we have a DNS issue with our Servers/Virtual Machines communicating. It would be easier for us to skip the email process, as our VM cannot get through due to the way the college set up its DNS settings.

We were thinking of just changing the request a new password page in some fashion to allow them to change it, or use a mailto link instead of having Drupal send an email.
