I was attempting to upgrade drupal from version 6.6 > 6.10. I followed the instructions, by creating a backup and deleting all of the content, replacing with the new 6.10 folder, running update.php, and readding some of my sites content from my backup. But I simply could not get the site back up, nor even log in.
I have to change my hosting company and upgrade the drupal 5.7 to 6.10.
Now I got an account with GoDaddy (VPS) - and this was my scenario:
1.install d5.7 on the new site (though access the site using its ip)
2.copy all the modules (the folders)
i am using the latest version of Drupal with latest CCK, Views, etc. and i am updating it every time that updates appear. After last update i confront a problem. Actually i can create a node or edit it, but fields do not appear, except title and body. I am not allowed or i can't edit images, files, input format, url alias, menu settings and other stuff to node. Did anyone had this problem before?
If I installed Drupal 2 years ago, but did not install any new major updates (was still at the same basic version today) could I still expect to receive security patches/fixes for my down level version? (hypothetically speaking, yes, I know, upgrade to new version is the 'best' option). THANK YOU :-)
My organization has decided to build a new Drupal site in version 6.
We had an old 4.7 Drupal site, but we decided to start from scratch,
and not update all the modules and content.
I wanted to ask for the best way to import all of our users from the old site
to the new one. In the new site all the user fields remain the same, and we also want
to keep the user roles.
Is it possilble to update only the tables associated with the user module ?
