I am wondering, when I upgrade, I upload a new module folder, but my old modules are still work after. Out of curiosity, how does that work? Does it merge with my old module folder?
Followed all the directions in UPGRADE.txt for 6.11, but my status in admin still insists I need to update to 6.11. I've eyeballed all the files and they seem to have updated (new dates on the files, etc). Scanned thru this forum, but didn't see anything obvious about an update that doesn't seem to "take". Any ideas or suggestions as to which files to look at? I'm relatively new to drupal, but very familiar with unix and programming/websites/scripting in general.
I've been trying, repeatedly, to create a duplicate of my live site to do development on. I created a backup database, copied all the files into a subdirectory, and changed stuff in the settings.php file. I can now see the main page in my test website, but none of the links work all the pages like http://www.mysite.com/test_site/node/234 actually works, it just gives me a page not found.
I just upgraded to 6.11 from 6.10, and noticed an immediate and severe drop in all bot traffic on my site. From perhaps 80-100 people and bots at any given time to 6-7 at any given time.
Is there any reason for this that anyone can think of originating in the drupal 6.11 upgrade itself? Any help appreciated.
Things to note: Running the latest WAMP, Vista Business 64, and Drupal 6.11.
My production site runs fine and when I copy the files and create the data base on my WAMP installation it works fine. Now if i make any changes whats so ever, like add a module or change a setting Apache starts to time out. I get:
Windows:
Apache HTTP Server has Stopped working
Firefox:
Network Timeout
The server at www.localhost.com is taking too long to respond.
