Updated to 6.12 via CVS maintained site - not all files updated, site now ? mixed versions

I updated from a Drupal site under CVS version control from 6.11 to 6.12 via command from CVS info page — http://drupal.org/node/93966

cvs update -r DRUPAL-6-12 -dP

which is the correct CVS tag, Update showed around 6 files downloaded/updated.

Then I ran the update script - it now shows the main system on 6.12 but all modules are still at 6.11 and Drupal is complaining.

Version Error?

Yes I am currenly having a problem I downloaded 6.12 and installed it but when i installed it it said 6.11 and wants me to upgrade, but I think i'm already upgraded what should I do?

upgrade D6.11 to D6.12 available updates returns page not found(solved)

Is anyone having strange behavior after upgrade? Cron is misbehaving as well.
I have pulled cron record from variables table and slate shows cron not run, try to run cron again.. always comes back, cron run failed.
edit-add: get error in dblog-- cron has been running for over an hour is most likely stuck--
Have not seen available updates or a successful cron run since D6.12 upgrade..
Have disabled and uninstalled poormanscron(just to be sure), aggregater(just to be sure) and backup_migrate(showing dblog error).

Two Questions About the Upgrade Steps

In the UPGRADE.TXT file, there are two steps listed as follows:

4. If using a custom or contributed theme, switch
to a core theme, such as Garland or Bluemarine.

5. Disable all custom and contributed modules.

I'm curious as to why these steps are necessary. I have multiple sites, all with different themes and different modules enabled, so these two steps can be quite a pain.

attachments to the node

Hi everyone,
I am upgrading my drupal core to 6.12. I have nodes which can take attachments (word documents, pdf, etc). I know I have to back up "site" directory and then when I am done with 6.12 upload put my old "site" directory back on the server. How do I ensure that all attachments are still there when i upgrade since i am not sure where drupal stores attachments. Does it store them in db?

Thanks

Latest update from 6.9 to 6.12. Unable to run cron. Returns to Admin profile

I have just upgraded from 6.9 to 6.12, all went well apart from when I went to run cron. Instead of running it directed my through to the Admin profile page.

I have tried clicking through to it using the Admin menu, also /cron.php and admin/reports/status/run-cron but they all return the same error.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so how can I resolve it?

many thanks
