most stable version of drupal?

Hi all, this is my first post and i'm pretty new to drupal but i'm very excited to be using it after briefly flirting with MODx, Joomla and wordpress. I really like what i'm seeing but unfortunately i don't think i'm off to a great start. I have installed a theme but theme editor doesn't seem to want to work for me. There seems to be conflicts with the version of drupal i'm running (7.2) and the other modules i've installed. Can anyone recommend the most stable version of drupal?

Webform upgrade

I am a newbie. I need to upgrade webform module and need some help. Would my current forms be affected in anyway if I update? Do I install the updated module and override the previous one?

Fatal Error

After updating the Rules module (7.x-2.0-beta2) and the Entity API module (7.x-1.0-beta9), my site is inaccessible and displays the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted in ... (changes every time)

Upping the PHP mem limit does not help. Curiously, disabling either Entity OR Views makes the site accessible again.

I updated these modules to the same versions on an entirely different site and am not experiencing the same issue. Note Views is enabled on the working site as well.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this??
