GoDaddy manual updating of Drupal 7.18

Hi there,

I started using Drupal in December 2012 and love it. However, I see there is a security update to Drupal 7.18 and my site is on GoDaddy, running Drupal 7.17.

I tried using their automatic updater like 3 times and each time, I got installation errors and had to reverse the changes. The updater said I will have to manually update Drupal.

So, calling GoDaddy, they give me the standard "we don't support Drupal" (but will sell you a linux hosting plan that uses it) and "go to drupal.org/support and find out there." Great. Some tech support. She blathered on about the folders being changed and I had no idea WTF she was talking about. I told her that I'm using Drupal's interface and haven't really had to use any folders. She couldn't even tell me where I could find a command line prompt when I asked, given that I've seen some help documentation that assumes users have a linux/unix prompt available. "You don't have a command prompt in the FTP file manager. You'll have to do it through Drupal." Ugh...And then she asks if I want to go back to using their crappy website builder (which I just ditched in favour of hosting so I can get more pages (not just 5) and better pages, instead of complaints about how their template sites look.)

My question is two-fold:

1. I have recently installed modules and plug-ins. Could this be the reason why it's not updating?

Modules

Hello everyone,
I have a problem installing some modules. When I install the module views UI it shows up in my list of modules but I can not select the module. It sais 'views missing'. I have the same problem after installing colorbox. I am a beginner with drupal and i am using drupal 7.
I would like it if there is someone who can explane me in an easy way... :)
Thanks alot...

upgrading from 6.26 to 6.27 will not be recognized by Updatemanager

I have searched all over, google and drupal.org, and I cannot seem to find reference to this specific issue.

I am trying to update to 6.27 for the security fixes. I have followed the standard update procedure.
I have put the site in maintenance mode, turned of all modules, put the theme, and admin theme to Garland, cleared the cache in the database, replaced drupal with the new version, ran update.php, even did a clean install of 6.27 and then imported the database again, but whatever i do, updatemanager keeps insisting my 6.26 version needs to be updated to 6.27.

Drupal 7 Upgrade Error with Blocks? PDOException: SQLSTATE[42S22]

I've just upgraded a Drupal site from Drupal 62 Drupal 7. I'm getting a lot of ambiguous error messages "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later."

One of the URLs is the blocks page: /admin/structure/block

The dblog says:

Strange thing after upgrading to 7.18

... at the bottom of my blog there are "1 2 3 4 ..." links to "site/node?page=1", "site/node?page=2", but these links not working, redirecting to front page!
... while site/?page=2 works as it needs to.
What's wrong? What can should I check?

Here is URLs to my blog:

(that not works): http://blog.yurichev.com/node?page=2
