I was recently doing a fairly routine security update on our website (www.pittsfieldtv.org/web), when I (as a novice administrator) broke several cardinal rules. I updated to our main site instead of a test site, and I accidentally nuked our .htaccess file, which I cannot locate the backup for. As a result, the site has become a bit of a mess, and being a neophyte, I would very much appreciate help pulling this one out of the fire.
Here are the issues I've discovered:
- First, and of note, the website is being hosted by 1&1 under the Business plan. It's an inexpensive option for this non-for-profit website, and it suits most of the site's needs. However, it does generate some complexities which may need to be accounted for.
- The site's home page works flawlessly - it looks exactly as I'd expect it to. This is the only thing that works as expected.
- When I click on a navigation link on the site itself, I see the following "Error 300:"
