Upgrading Drupal

I'm trying to upgrade Drupal 4.4.2 to 4.5.8, but am having weird problems. I'm running PHP 4.3.2 under Red Hat linux (RHEL 3.1).

Does anyone know whether 4.5.8 will work with that version of PHP?

Hi all- I've been happily using Drupal 4.6.x (can't remember exactly which version) without any problems, but wanted to put in a new module and saw that Fantastico had 4.7.2 available, so I decided to upgrade. That was a mistake. NOW of course I've seen all the issues with Fantastico. Wish I'd thought to research it first. Anyway, the upgrade didn't work properly, so I followed Fantastico's instructions for restoring the backup. Now I have the front page of my website, but NOTHING ELSE. None of the links to any of the content work, I can't log in, nothin'.

After activating Views module on the Modules page, I get a blank page with following text:

The module worked before my ISP upgraded to PHP5.

I tried copying both 4.7.0 and cvs (07/08/06) to site, and activate views on the Modules page and clicked ok.

I have a website I originally installed with Fantastico with drupal 4.7.0.

I have since installed the modules:

Adsense, Badbehavior, Category, Easylinks (Not active), Epublish (not being used), GoogleAnalytics, forward, Gsitemap, image, linksdb, moviereview, nodewords, poormanscron, quotes, systeminfo, views.

I updated from 4.7.0 to 4.7.2 by going in with an FTP client, uploading the 4.7.2 files over the 4.7.0 files.

I checked the upgrade with systeminfo and it stated that it was running on 4.7.2.

I just completed an upgrade of my drupal 4.7.2 to 4.7.3.

Everything went fairly smoothly, I followed the instructions from the handbook, upgrade from previous version but it seems my site no longer has the content-types i created, although they're showing up as tables in my database. The content I created with these new content types no longer display correctly either.

Do I need to recreate these content types or will it totally screw up what's already in the database?
