I'm trying to upgrade Drupal 4.4.2 to 4.5.8, but am having weird problems. I'm running PHP 4.3.2 under Red Hat linux (RHEL 3.1).

Does anyone know whether 4.5.8 will work with that version of PHP?

Does anyone know how I can download 4.5.2? The "download" link here only provides 4.5.8.

Also by the way, the "system requirements" wording is rather vague:

As of Drupal 4.6, the CMS requires PHP version 4.3.3+ (PHP 5 is supported for the 4.6 release). Drupal 4.2 to 4.5.2 inclusive require PHP version 4.1+. Older versions of Drupal will run on PHP 4.0.6+. We recommend using the latest version of PHP 4.x.

and there's nothing in the docs of the Drupal packages to tell me whether PHP 4.3.3 is needed for Drupal 4.5.3-8 or not.

I'm running Red Hat Enterprise, so updating to PHP 4.3.3 isn't really an option as far as I know.

You do not want 4.5.2. 4.5.2 is not a remotly secure build.

I need to know whether PHP 4.3.3 is needed for Drupal 4.5.8. It's not clear from the docs whether it is or not, and I am having strange problems upgrading (only being able to log in once, clean URLs not working, etc.) that suggest that there may be some PHP version problem going on that I don't know about.

Please read my original post again - apologies if I didn't make myself clear.

...is good to run php 4. PHP 5 support came with Drupal 4.6.x and higher....

You can download 4.5.x here: (pick from menu)
