I am new to this forum and also to Drupal and because of that I want to say Hey everybody. I'm working web design many years with very different technique and CMS, but first time with Drupal.
During planing of my new project, my friend told me that is Drupal one solution for it because of stability, secure, etc. Since my customer is very sensible, actually they are a citizen service for one Town, I decided to met Drupal and try to make some things. Now, i think that Drupal is the best solution for my new project, but I still can't make some things.
I am trying to create a View block that appears when any user profile (not just the currently logged in user) page is shown (I can do this part). I want this View block to show all the groups the current User being displayed (again not necessarily the user logged in) is a member of. Example: myaddress.org/user/51
I have to develop a robust website, similar to airbnb.com
The website will contain properties for rent and in each one there will be rooms. The users will be able to hire the rooms while other users will be able to advertise them. Their will be a hierarchy of property managers, rooms managers and company managers (with a few properties). The rate of the rooms will change according to days and hours. Users will be able to pay in their own currency... etc etc...
I am having a variety of problems with attempting to move a D7 site to D8, some of which involves trying to use Acquia Dev Desktop as part of that process. But before getting into the details of those problems, I want to ask a bigger question that is directed to those who have significant experience with this type of migration, specifically to Drupal 8, taking these points into account:
