I have just installed Drupal 8.0 because I wanted to play with it a bit. The install went smoothly (or so i thought) as I have installed Drupal a couple times previous to this and the instructions are very easy to follow. My issue is with the admin panel or lack there of. I'm not sure if this is an installation error or if i am just overly tired and not paying attention but none of the links in the admin menu work.
Trying to install D8 (dev. aug. 4) I get following error under "Requirements problem":
PHP extensions Disabled
Drupal requires you to enable the PHP extensions in the following list (see the <a href="http://drupal.org/requirements">system requirements page</a> for more information):<div class="item-list"><ul><li>fileinfo</li></ul></div>
I am trying to install Drupal 8.1 dev downloaded from download page. When I enter the database configuration page, I find there is no other database selection except SQLite. Does this installation script not provide the other database selection? Or, I made some mistake somewhere?
I have a couple of questions concerning D8 but also theme development and sitebuilding with Drupal in general.
What I want to do is to rebuild a website in drupal which is now running on wordpress. It is my own small project and I am not in a hurry to put the new website up. Rather I'd use the opportunity to get to know Drupal 8 well even though it might take a while untill it will be ready for a production site.
I've been trying to get Drupal 8 to run locally on my Windows 7 machine, but during the 3d step of the install process, I am blocked by an error message:
