Drupal 8.x

I just installed Drupal 8 and have some previous experience with Omega under Drupal 7. Because of this, I am interested in using Omega as a base theme for subtheming on Drupal 8. My findings so far suggest that it has not yet been updated for Drupal 8.

Does anyone have additional information? Or suggestions?

I had a basic store with four items working fine under 1.0-beta1. I wanted the newest 20 Sept 2017 version, so I executed the command:
composer update drupal/commerce --with-dependencies
cleared the cache and all appeared OK with no errors.

But when I go to the list of items (via a view I created) on the website itself nothing is displayed - even though when editing the view the preview shows all four of the products with descriptions and prices as expected.

Is there any way I can get back the default Glossary View which I deleted by mistake?

I started learning Drupal 8, and introduced to installation profiles. I use the vardoc installation profile. I like how fast I can setup a website.

Now, I am curious if I can delete the installation profile from profiles folder. Because the file takes 114MB of space. I have no problem with it, just thinking maybe I can mimimize the size of my website.

I would like to setup a front end server farm to minimize downtime for failures or updates and patches. I am looking at installing Drupal 8 on multiple Windows 2016 Servers attaching to a SQL Cluster. I already have access to a redundant hardware load balancer that I am going to use. I was thinking of setting up share storage for the sites/ directory to be able to allow all front end web servers running Drupal so that I don't have to worry/deal with file sync issues.
