How to hide certain pieces of a field from different users (editors/administrators)

Hi there.

I have found a few posts about how to hide an entire field from an editor using field_permissions.  But what I am interested in is hiding only certain parts of a field from editors (but not administrators).

Specifically, I want to provide the meta tags field to editors when they are creating and editing content, but I don't want to give them access to all the options meta tags provides.  For example, I would like administrators to be able to see the "Abstract" text area under meta tags >> general, but I'd like to hide this from editors.

Google interactive Map

Hi,

i would like to have a google map, ability to zoom in/out, with some pins corresponding to article. So when I write an article I would like to have a radio box to say, show this on the map.

Reciprocally I would like to chose what I show on the map from a search field, and when I click on a pin it opens the corresponding article.

Is that possible?

Many thanks fo your help,

Best,

-Fred

Drupal 8.4.2: frontpage has /index.php/ in links, what happened?

Hello Everybody,

{ After clearing cache many times and turn off cache, everything is OK now. Turn on cache again, seems to be OK, also. Thank for your reading! }

{ 2 days after from OK, index.php/ re-emerges, what happened? }

{ December 6th, 2017: I did not touch anything, but in URLs views's pages are OK, but main menu links are wrong (OK before) }

My website ( superthinlabs dot com ): Drupal 8.4.2 , bartik theme, Apache 2.4, mod rewrite on.

Upgrade process cannot see Modules

I am attempting to upgrade my site from D7 to D8.  I have followed the instructions to the letter but the Upgrade Analysis Report reports 51 Missing Upgrade Paths saying the Upgrade Modules are missing.  But they are not missing!  They are all there in the new, blank D8 site, and they have all been enabled in the 'Extend' interface.  They all also show up in the Available Updates Report where they all have a nice green tick showing they are up to date.

Code tag doesn't work out of the box

Hey, guys.

Can we display code snippets in Drupal 8 articles out of the box? Without any modules?

I assumed, placing a code inside the <pre><code> tags would do the job. It didn't. It worked only when I replaced all the instances of the opening < tag with the &lt; in my code snippet. Not a big deal, but still ... .

Am I missing anything?

Regards,

Alex
