I've been approached by a customer to create a web administration database for their customer reward system.
Basically when a customer makes a purchase from them they will be given X number of points - these will be entered into the web admin system by the company.
Customers will be able to login via the website to see their points, and see what items they can redeem these points for.
Long story....but bottom line I am not happy with the company I have chosen to help me create the site. A couple years ago I tried drupal but was not successful because basically I had no idea what I was doing. I am not technical so I would also be looking to hire someone to help me. If not now, in a few months because I am not going to renew with the current company. But that is a whole different story and I can't seem to let go of my idea for the site.....
I'm planning on setting up a new site for a client, and I'm unsure what version of Drupal to use. What I've seen from browsing here a bit is that the module ecosystem may not yet be mature enough for 6 to be viable, and that 7 is expected soon; on the other hand, I hate using an older version of software when there's something "new and improved" available. WOuld you recommend installing 6 and trying to make it do what I need, or installing 5 now and planning on upgrading directly to 7 when it's mature?
Im looking into making a site that has a ladder system like the ones seen on gamebattles.com or nxgamers.com and having social networking features(ie. user pages, friendslist, comments, blog)built into the site as well. im pretty much looking for the same setup that gamebattles.com has with lots of tweaks and changes.
hey i'm wanting a new frontend/cms for my site as i'm not happy with my current one and i have a large smf 1.1.4 forum and wanted to know if i can integrate it with Drupal 6.2 and if so how?
I was tasked with making a site that will be using drupal but needs to be able to add/edit/remove custom data fields. Are there any tips or resources I should specifically see for this?
Also, I can't find out if Drupal implements the MCV design pattern. Can somebody please point me in the right direction as I unfortunately have a small amount of time to learn Drupal and have something to show for this site (you know how it is) ;)
