I developed a website using Joomla with the Peoplebook component (http://www.missionsdoor.org/missionaries/), and have a new client interested in the same functionality.
I've since become more interested in Drupal. How I might deliver similar functionality using the Drupal framework? I've read and seen a little of Views2, not sure how that would fit. And, the "donate now" links would need to by distinct for each person listed.
I am looking into using Drupal for a portal that will require group-based access control. My users and groups will probably live in an LDAP directory. A single group may contain up to 50,000 users. Will Drupal modules such as LDAP Integration, Organic Groups, or TAC scale to those numbers? As I'm still learning my way around Drupal's terminology and architecture, I'm not sure whether the number of users matters, or just the number of groups/roles, but still want to understand any relevant scalability limitations.
Hi
ive installed drupal 6.3, but I am wondering if I should have installed an earlier version instead.
What I am trying to create is a subscription based site. I installed ubercart to achieve this but everytime I try to change any settings via the administation panel, I keep getting a 'page not found' screen. I tried to download the Module Dependencies that goes along with it, but since some of those are not supported with drupal 6 versions, I wonder if this could have anything to do with it or is it somehting completely else thats wrong?
I'm considering Drupal for a new venture I'm thinking of testing. I'm looking to create a site that allows users to submit videos (youtube embeded) I'd then like people to be able to rate and comment on the video's on the site. Eventually there will be contests for best video hence the need for ratings. Is there a module or combination of modules that would allow me to do this?
I'm certainly impressed with Drupal so far, but can anyone describe if/how to have a static "main page" with custom graphics, text, and links to all other areas?
Or, is it the intention that Drupal naturally provides this?
I haven't installed Drupal yet, so I don't know all the features. This issue is something I have found quite difficult with other CMSs, most recently Joomla!.
