I've been experimenting with a few different solutions but am going around in circles. Help!!!
We need to host Gigs of audio files (currently in MP3 and WMV formats, but we would like to convert them to MP3s on upload).
Each week we will add a bunch of long audio lectures and will also eventually be posting videos. Since each audio/video file will be at least one hour long we need to stream the files so viewers can jump around their timelines without having to download the whole media file first (we also want them to have the option to download the file).
Is there not a working chat module for Drupal? Almost every chat module that exists is either not fully functional or plagued with bugs and not ready for production use on a Drupal 6x site.
I'm using the Tribune module but I was looking for an option that is not self hosted and ideally flash or ajax based. Any ideas?
Posted this here because a lot of people would want to know this prior to deciding if Drupal is right for them.
I have gotten really far with my drupal test website thanks to the drupal forum :)
I am planning on getting my finish site online very soon.
My concern is, I still want to keep the test site just to test any new drupal material before deploying it to the new site.
I am lost on how I should migrate settings like the views setup and various other changes I did on the test site. I understand transfering the themes files. but how safe is it to dump the files over to the new site with a new sql database?
I've been lurking around the forums for some time now and I'm just making the jump to install Drupal but I have one question. For my initial install on a local pc should I install drupal 5 or 6?
I am as gleefully anxious to begin working on a Drupal environment, with it's boundless potential, and next generational architecture, as a module on my laptop (probably the natural first step for any new Drupal user)
I am still anxious, though slightly less gleefully, because your installation guide does not include links to set up environments that would make the software run.
So when I downloaded Drupal... I downloaded a non-functional package, which, could be functional if I had already been a developer who knew how to add on additional frameworks...
