I need a website with the following requirements (the scenario below is fictitious and only an example of the required functionality):
1. The overall plan is for a searchable database of human families containing the following fields:
a. Surname of the family
b. First name of each human family member, their age and date of birth
c. Number of pet types [for example an uer would enter 4 pet types if he owns 2 cats, 1 dog, 4 fish and 3 birds].
d. Total number of pets [10 for the example above].
e. Date when each pet was acquired.
f. Number of cars owned by each family member
g. Number of shoe pairs owned by each family member
h. Capability to add new fields should the need arise.
2. The information above is to be filled in by family members themselves, not via web forms, but via a wiki-type interface. For example, if just one field needs to be updated, the user goes and picks his own family name, then goes directly to the field he wants to change and then makes the change.
3. Users will also be able to search and query the database in the following way (here are some examples):
a. How many families are in the database?
b. How many members are in a certain age range?
c. How many cats are owned by all families with the surname Smith?
d. Total number of cats acquired in a certain time period.
I want to creat a database of people, categorized in 4 groups.
After choosing a category from drop down menu, list of people (related category) should be created.
There should be a feature, to select from the list with checkmarks (or select all from the category), and a button. After clicking on a button, list of emails of selected people should appear at textbox below the list.
first and foremost i would like to thank in advance anyone who could answer my questions and concerns. I just registered here about 5 minutes ago and i feel overwhelmed,
ok where do i start.
few weeks ago, I decided to tackle the whole CMS thing, and simply didnt know where to start. After few hours of searching, i came across both joomla, and dropal, as the internet choice for site building. I made some basic research and found out that joomla was the prefered choice for builders due to its simple gui. But after a carefull review of my needs(or possibly the outcome of my various methods of promotions that has proved extreemly successful to me in the past for acquaring 20k to 50k hits per day range, when I was involved in the music industry)i realized that drupal is the better choice.
Hi,
I would like to create a module that would receive data and put it on a database and then will return other data from the same database.
For example, A student will enter his name and the grade of his test. his data will be saved and the module will show the student how many students got a higher/lower grade in numbers or percentage.
How do i do that? Is there already a module for these sort of things?
I am quite new to Drupal and i am sorry for my ignorance.
I didn't work on it for a few months and the owner wasn't updating modules, etc... It wound up getting somewhere up to 40,000 blog posts created for it. I cleaned all of those up, updated the modules, and changed passwords. I haven't had a problem with it since.
The problem I have now is that I'm getting over 100 hits per day from other Drupal sites that seem to have had the same problem. How can I go about fixing this? Do I have to contact every site owner and ask them to clean up their site?
