Before you start

Hello,

I would like to use Drupal - German language - on my new site. I am uncertain which version to use, the Drupal 6 or 7. I realized there are more add-on and themes for the 6.

I want to run a site which offers people (friends and so on) to post content, post in forums, maybe have own blogs, have opportunity to upload photos and videos as well and they maybe have chance to comment on postings. Which version is more stable the 6 or 7 and has more to offer?

What is the recommended Charset for creating a database for English? latin1,2..., or utf8,.. etc...

I was wondering if Drupal would be a good solution to handle these particular needs.

I was thinking with Organic Groups I could have each owner have their own group. Their news, trading block, etc would all be editable only by the team.

Groups could be given weight to determine standings.

I plan to build my web site using drupal 7. then I heard pressflow, I like pressflow because its designed to run faster. but drupal 7 also has alot good features that pressflow didnt have.

now I cannot decide which one to use.
