Before you start

If i used block and page in view section,Filter criteria exposed both page and block,that time page will be search means that result will be display both page and block,but block will be search means only result display block why?I need solution ...

Here are the problems (initially)

The old site hit a wall at 5. (Because of the infamous unupgradeable book review module.

So. I need some advice on Installing 7.8 and being able to link back to the rest of the content As I am told it is next to impossible to import back in.

I need to know how to set up the new install on the same domain, directory, etc, without having any issues.

Any thoughts here? I'd like to start off in a direction that won't foul everything up.

I'm looking to build a site where users can create accounts, form bonds like a social-network (but probably without a whole lot of the features of them), and pose 'challenges' to other users. These users then would undertake them, work towards them (gaining points if you will), and achieve them. For the achievements part I will use the Achievements module.

An example of what I'm going for here would be a site where parents and teachers could challenge students to things - say "read these 5 books" or "read 50 pages each night" or "get a perfect score on a spelling test", or "run 10 laps around the track" - things like that. Obviously this is a form of gamification, I'm aware of that.

I've spent some time going through the tutorials on D7 module creation and believe I understand a bit of it but clearly am a Drupal newbie.

What I'm looking for are some general concepts that I would employ - questions to follow:

I'm looking at Drupal for the first time, so have very limited knowledge. What I'm trying to do is set up a site where I have a number of "clubs", each with an administrator, theme and configuration, and "fans" who are members of a club. A fan can access the information for the club, only and may interact as the club administrator sees fit (post, make comments, ...). An administrator will have access to his club, only.

Each club will have the possibility of a blog, shopping cart, news, news syndication and forum
