I'm going to set up a site. It's going to have a global reach. There will be a main US site. But then there will also be sub sites. For instance, I'll have an Asian template with 5 Asian countries each having a particular site. This will happen on multiple continents.
I'm trying to work through whether or not it would be prudent to set all of this up under a multisite installation.
Can anyone give me some quick feedback on this or point to a known resource that really helps making this decision?
I would like to build a web site for my real-estate company and I don't know what should I download and use.
I even didn't download drupal yet, because I don't even know how to setup it and use it.
A friend recommended me to use drupal as I am not a programmer and have no any background in programming.
Hi everyone.
Generally, I'm new to the whole CMS thing. I've been exploring Drupal/Wordpress/Joomla for the last couple weeks. But still can't get my head around what exactly I need to get my project done.
I need to create a simple video centric website (all videos will be hosted on YouTube), something like this, but less complicated. Without any categories (the whole site will be about one category). Just a front page with some kind of a slider (like in the example I gave) and latest videos, another page to browse all videos available on the website, and maybe another page for video submission. The features I want the site to have:
- video rating system
- sidebar which will display top rated videos
- search
- facebook/twitter buttons
That's it. Is this easy to do with Drupal? I know Drupal is a little bit more complicated than Wordpress/Joomla, but I'm willing to learn. Plus it's possible that I'll want to enhance my website in the future. All I need is a little guidance of where to start. I've been searching for templates but couldn't find anything suitable. Maybe I could start with a standart template and just use the extentions for everything? Please suggest what things (extentions, templates) I'll need to create this kind of website.
I've been playing around with Wordpress and have become very frustrated, can't really get it to do what I want. Been looking at Drupal and looks pretty good. Just a quick question before I start to setup anything. I want to create a blog, 5 categories on 1 page each. so 5 pages showing 1 category each. Is this easily done with Drupal? I appreciate any input.
Thanks
I have a set of requirements (not well fleshed out) that cover a system to manage documents (word docs, designs, etc.) for both internal and external use. Basically what we need is a system that allows users to have multiple versions of docs online, publish at will and keep working on new revs. We also need to have inside and outside facing interfaces with access control and permissions enforcement (this might be best covered with separate sites and doc pushes to the outside facing interface). Conversion from word docs to html or XML has been discussed as part of this.
