Hi, I am an "intermediate" Drupal developer who has a new client and a new project. The overall functionality is to create a site that allows users to create content and upload PDFs to different categories (easy enough). Then, other users will pay to see/download that content and the original user (the creator) will receive a % royalty. So payment goes to the site, and the user receives a royalty payment.
We were originally looking at Joomla, and found a few themes that would fit our requirements. Now, however, we're thinking about Drupal instead.
We want a slider, but we also want it to be obvious what's on the hidden (i.e. not currently displayed) slider nodes.
Most of the Drupal themes I've looked at have cycling sliders, and there's no way of knowing what's on the other nodes until they are cycled in, or if you click the arrows / node selectors to flick through the nodes.

I am expecting a Drupal contractor to develop our new site in Drupal 7. Drupal.org specifies PHP 5.2.4, and we have PHP 5.1.6. How critical is this? We don't want to have to update the PHP on our server unless we absolutely have to. Thanks!
